A Memorial Flight Mystery (a photo haiku)

I heard these choppers coming and didn’t know what to think, just all those jokes about black helicopters and rural areas. So I posted a shot on Facebook along with

a joke or two. Soon several local friends replied to let me know what it was about. It was a memorial flight, a formation missing one aircraft, to mark the absence of Mike Backus, a beloved guy who flew for the

National Guard Medic Corps, and who had died suddenly, just last week. I felt badly about the FB jokes, and explained in that forum. But then several people told me they thought Mike wouldn’t have minded. He was a funny guy, they said, great sense of humor, and gone too soon.
