Ah,the marshes;where peat slowly forms a parfait of pollens and seeds recording the flowerings and going to seed of life, where acid and a lack of oxygen ironically preserve those things that normally pass quickly to other forms.I wrote in the AJC a couple weeks ago that the spill will soak into our brains the way it does into the marsh;a place full of slowness and reflections which civilization always strives to drain and convert but which will ever shelter wildness. You are welcome to my puny praise but do please drop the Sir-I may be old but I am happy-and you are connecting me to lands my Grandfather timbered heavily, but saved a small bit of also as a park. Thanks for that, looking forward to hearing of the marsh.

I'm surprised Jame's wife lets him wear her white swimsuit in such oily water. Lesson learned!

Thank you, sir. Much appreciated and the correction has been made!
This morning trying to get a post out before seven, when we head down to Grand Bay (Alabama) to explore the marshes.

"those who claim with confidence that they know what the Corexit will do is thinking the thinking of little boys. Which means they are thinking that you can fix nature like you fix a carburetor."
I'll correct the tiny flaw which let your soul escape this beautiful piece of writing by saying it should be "are" instead of "is" .I'll add that I've been fixing carburetors for a long time and some cannot be fixed,so there is a minuscule flaw there too.
Please take all this as an inversion of "damning with faint praise"-praising with and under the breath "damn".
This is the best writing I have seen from the spill-keep it up please.

Thanks for bringing the reality of this disaster to our door so we can't pretend everything is all right. And most importantly the reminder that everything is connected to everything.

Love the weaves of personal connections along the way. Never knew David Sr knew Dan-o!

God speed to all- and cheers!

Man, this is beautiful writing about a harrowing thing. Keep up the "lectures." There's a time and a place - and this is it.
