Thanks for your always generous comments. I will look up Guy's work......Vermont was nice by the way. Down here it's been over 100 and muggy. Dave

Dave, New reader here. I serendipitously picked up 'Under The Devil's Thumb' last year at McIntyre and Moore Booksellers (formerly at Davis square, now at Porter) and have wended my way through 'A wild, rank place' and 'Sick of Nature' since. I recently discovered that you blog! Yippee!

I loved your recent 2 part comic (book?). I recently read Logicomix (http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/27/books/review/Holt-t.html) and was unable to put it down..i thought that readers here might enjoy it. Its a story about Logicians and the establishment of the foundations of mathematics and computing! This would seem like an incredibly dry topic, but the authors and illustrators of that book do a wonderful job of bringing out the life, times, and work of a rather colorful set of scientists.

David, this looks so great, wish I could take the class. Are you aware of The Center for Cartoon Studies here in Vermont? It looks pretty amazing, Spiegelman is talking there today. Maybe you could teach a course there after you learn enough in your own class!
Also, have you read any of Guy Delisle's work? I loved his books on both Korea and Burma, you should def check them out...
Best,
Abby
